Released in 2011, Puella Magi Madoka Magica has been one of the most talked about anime series of this generation. The first two movies in the series were simply a retelling of the 12 episode television-series. The third film, Madoka Magica The Movie - Rebellion, will tell a completely new story written by the creator Gen Urobuchi (Fate/Zero, Psycho-Pass) that will center around Homura Akemi.
The film is scheduled to be released in Japan on October 26, but studio Shaft will keep to its promise of making Rebellion an international release. Soon after, it will be released in France in November, and have US screenings towards the end of the year thanks to Aniplex of America, but no dates have been finalized.
